Welcome to this week's SAA Update! In this week's SAA Update we bring you the following timely information: |
| Report on SAT I Results for 2005-06 Now Available on the District Website | The report "SAT Reasoning Test Results of Grade 12 Students, 2005-06" is now available on the Research and
Reporting website at http://studata.sandi.net/research/reports/SAT0506.rpt.pdf. The study discusses the performance
of district Grade 12 students on the SAT I over time. The discussion covers demographic characteristics of district
test takers; performance on the three portions of the test (including, for the first time, the writing component of the
exam); comparisons of district performance and participation rates with those of US public schools, California public
schools, and other large California school districts; demographic subgroup (ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status,
and English language proficiency) results and participation rates; and results for individual schools. |
| Report on Student Suspensions and Expulsions for 2005-06 Now Available on the District Website | The report "Student Suspensions and Expulsions: 2005-06" is now available on the Research and Reporting website
at http://studata.sandi.net/research/reports/susp0506.rpt.pdf. The report discusses suspension rates, in-school
suspension rates, and expulsion rates over the years; presents data for demographic subgroups (ethnicity and
gender) and special education students; breaks out data by grade level and grade ranges and by type of offense; and
examines trends in length of suspension and its relationship to ethnicity, gender, and type of offense. The study
found that suspension and expulsion rates both reached an "all-time" high in 2005-06 (based on 25 years of data for
suspensions and 13 years for expulsions). The report also presents five years of data for individual district schools. Please contact Mara Bernd at 619.725.7164 or mbernd@sandi.net if you have any questions about the report. |
