Standards, Assessment, and Accountability Division

The purpose of this page is to alert you to the new tool in Zangle for documenting where students go after leaving our district and to assist you in determining their status. Please see this letter from Dr. Peter Bell, Director - Research and Reporting Department for an introduction to this procedure.

Each secondary school will be responsible for entering their students’ exit information on an ongoing basis. This ensures that the most accurate information is collected and efforts can be made quickly to recover these students. Schools will know which students’ documentation needs to be updated by running a Zangle query. Detailed instructions to complete the exit screen can be found at this link:

This screen also aids schools for Project Recovery. To obtain complete information for each student, it is recommended that school staff contact the student or his or her family as soon as it is known that they are leaving the school. Complete the information on the Project Recovery Data Collection Worksheet for entry into Zangle. Detailed guidelines about the Project Recovery process can be found at this link.

The following list of common scenarios will assist you in determining the correct exit code. This is also available here as a Word document. A complete list of the state exit codes and a detailed description for the definition of each code can be found at this link.
