Contents The main table of contents lists all major categories and subcategories of information included in the Course of Study, K-12, 2007-2008 edition.
Preface The preface gives an overview of the requirements behind, and the purposes of, the Course of Study, and describes what is new in the 2007-2008 edition.
Part 1 Part 1 summarizes state and district requirements regarding instructional programs and includes information about high school graduation requirements, state academic standards as adopted by the district, assessment of student achievement and a host of other subjects.
Part 2 Part 2 describes district cross-curricular programs, including alternative education programs, programs of the San Diego Plan for Racial Integration and special education courses of study.
Part 3 Part 3 provides detailed information and course descriptions for each of the district's curriculum areas.
  • Career Technical Education This section provides general information about Career Technical Education (CTE) courses, including career pathways in 15 industry sectors. It also includes specific information about CTE courses offered districtwide, including course names, numbers, descriptions, and adopted texts. This section includes courses formerly listed under Business Education, Career Development, Health Science Careers, Home Economics Careers and Technology, and Industrial Technology Education.
  • Computer Education This section provides general information about the Computer Education course sequence and specific information about all Computer Education courses offered districtwide, including course names, numbers, descriptions, and course texts.
  • English Language Arts This section provides general information about the English Language Arts course sequence and specific information about all English Language Arts courses offered districtwide, including course names, numbers, descriptions, and course texts.
  • English Language Development This section provides general information about the English Language Development course sequence and specific information about all English Language Development courses offered districtwide, including course names, numbers, descriptions, and course texts.
