California Standards Tests

The California Standards Tests (CST) were developed specifically to assess students' performance in English language arts, mathematics, science, and history/social science. Results of CST testing are used as one of the primary components of the California's school accountability system. They are used to determine a district's or school's Academic Performance Index (API). They are also used to determine whether or not a district or school made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act. The graphs below do not include district charter school results.
