What We Do

Effective December 2006, the Planning and Accountability Department split into two separate departments: Accountability and Program Monitoring.  

The Accountability Department will remain within the SAA Division, located in Room 3150 at the Education Center.  The Accountability Department is responsible for coordinating district, state, and federal accountability processes including:  Academic Performance Index (API) Adobe Acrobat Document, Title I Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Adobe Acrobat Document, state and federal intervention and corrective action programs, and the coordination of Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)/No Child Left Behind (NCLB).  Linda Dusharme, Director of Accountability, can be reached at (619) 725-7190 and Ron Rode, ESEA/NCLB Manager, at (619) 725-5611.

 
The Program Monitoring Department is now part of the Special Projects Division, under the Associate Superintendent of Parent, Community, and Student Engagement.  Debbie Beldock is the Executive Director of the Special Projects Division.  Debbie can be reached at (619) 725-5605.  The Program Monitoring Department is responsible for coordinating the implementation of Single Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA), supporting School Site Councils (SSCs) and the District Advisory Committee for Compensatory Education (DAC), and providing Title I services for eligible private schools Adobe Acrobat Document including professional development, support for teachers working in the program, and consultation with private school administrators regarding instructional program support.  Terri Reed and Peggy Zickert are the Program Managers of this department, which is located at the Instructional Media Center (IMC), Building D.   Staff in the Program Monitoring Department (including Resource Teachers) can be reached at (858) 496-4048.
